The stage was set. The stakes were high. It all came down to this. Army versus Air Force. Who was the best?
On December 16, 2018, the annual branch battle took place on the 2nd day of Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege US Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada. 10 Military Gaming League members took the main stage in front of more than 300 people and another 48,395 viewers online, to show everyone who the best branch was.
Representing the Army was captain XecratioN, Demand, JmagLive, Eradin, Clink, and their coach BitterVet.
For the Air Force was captain DaddyMike, Jehuey, ImNotWallin, UberDoober, ItsBeezy, and their coach DokkiBoi.
Not only were there Military Gaming League members on the stage, joining the talent on the analyst desk was Military Gaming League’s Rainbow 6 Siege Game Manager Cazrep.
As the Army versus Air Force banter filled Twitch chat, the battle on the main stage started. Air Force came out strong, taking the early lead with an impressive performance by captain DaddyMike leading his team with 11 kills after 5 rounds. But Army would not go down without a fight. Clink showed up for the Army with 3 kills in round 6 and Demand came up with the 2 vs. 1 clutch to hold off match point in round 7. It was a hard fought battle, but it was GGs for the Army as Air Force would take match point in round 8 winning 6-2
At the end of the day, it was a great time at the Rainbow Six Siege US Nationals for all of the Military Gaming League members. It was also a fantastic opportunity to bring together the military gaming community, to support one another, and to help bring awareness to the issues that can affect our military members past and present. We’re no ordinary esports league, we’re family.
